Brett Kavanaugh

Brett Kavanaugh was born on February 12, 1965, in Washington, D.C., and attended Yale for both undergrad and law school. He worked in the Office of Solicitor General of the U.S. and the Office of Independent Counsel and was a partner at law firm before returning to public service in 2001 in the White House Counsel’s Office. He then served as White House staff secretary before being nominated and confirmed to the D.C. Circuit in 2006.

Kavanaugh was nominated to the Supreme Court on July 9, 2018, by President Trump and was confirmed by the Senate on October 6, 2018. He heard his first oral arguments three days later.
