Va. Public Radio Station Joins FTC in Requesting Live Audio for Next Travel Ban Hearing

FTC’s Gabe Roth has joined a Richmond-based public radio news director to request live audio in the next iteration of the travel ban case, to be argued before the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals in the Virginia capital on December 8:

Dear Chief Judge Gregory:

We, the undersigned, are the news director of a Richmond-based public radio station and the executive director of a national nonprofit that advocates for greater access to federal courts, respectively.

We write today to urge the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals to provide a live audio stream on the court’s website for 17-2231, Trump v. International Refugee Assistance Program, to be argued at 9:00 a.m. on December 8.

We are greatly appreciative that the May 8 hearing in this case was livestreamed and believe the public’s significant and continued interest in it merits the same treatment next month.

Thank you for considering this request.

Sincerely,
Craig Carper                                        Gabe Roth
