Justice Sonia Sotomayor was born in Bronx, N.Y., on June 25, 1954. She received her undergraduate degree from Princeton and law degree from Yale. She served as an Assistant District Attorney and then as a judge in the Southern District of New York and Second Circuit Court of Appeals. President Obama nominated her to the Supreme Court, and she took her seat on August 8, 2009.
