Samuel Alito


Justice Samuel Anthony Alito, Jr., was born in Trenton, N.J., on April 1, 1950. He worked for the state of New Jersey and in the Reagan administration. President G.H.W. Bush appointed him to the Third Circuit Court of Appeals in 1990. President George W. Bush nominated him to the Supreme Court, and he took his seat on January 31, 2006.
