Fix the Court’s senior researcher Tyler Cooper released the following statement:

Today President Biden signed the Courthouse Ethics and Transparency Act into law, marking a significant step toward achieving greater accountability throughout the judiciary.

Fix the Court congratulates the law’s bipartisan sponsors in the House and Senate, as well as the President, for coming together to hold judges and justices to comparable financial reporting requirements as those for lawmakers and top executive branch officials.

This is a major achievement for all, and FTC hopes this bipartisan cooperation will now carry forward through other pending legislation to provide accountability to the third branch.
