Justice Ginsburg: Let's Throw Up Our Hands Regarding the Dysfunction of SCOTUS Confirmations
At a Duke University event last night, Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg said she hopes “patriots on both sides of the aisle” will say enough with the “dysfunction” of the Supreme Court confirmation process and return to how it used to be.
Fix the Court’s Gabe Roth responded:
“The idea that the partisan struggle for control of the Supreme Court will magically end is fanciful.
“Instead of hoping for an unrealistic future, we need to act. By ending life tenure, and in its stead establishing regular terms, we can turn down the temperature of confirmation hearings and help fix the dysfunction plaguing the confirmation process.”
