Second Circuit Denies FTC Live Audio Request for Major Tech Case

The Second Circuit has denied a Fix the Court request for a live audio stream for 18-396, Herrick vs. Grindr.

The facts of the case are, well, horrifying, and since the legal matter at the heart of it – whether tech companies can be held liable for heinous acts committed on their platforms by users – has far-reaching effects, this was a very disappointing decision by the court.

Currently, only the D.C. Circuit and the Ninth Circuit routinely livestream oral argument audio, and the Fourth Circuit livestreamed two travel ban cases in 2017.
