The Broadcast Blackout Continues in the SCOTUS Courtroom
Following the compelling case of a Michigan girl and her dog Wonder at the Supreme Court, Fix the Court executive director Gabe Roth asks in a Detroit News essay: what is the message the justices are sending the American people by not allowing broadcast media in their courtroom?
“The Supreme Court’s refusal to allow a majority of the American people to experience their work as it transpires,” Roth writes, “demonstrates a level of contempt for public discourse that is confounding.”
