The Supreme Court should continue livestreaming oral argument audio and one day soon allow cameras. Access to filings in the lower courts should be free and not stuck behind a $0.10-per-page paywall. The justices should maintain their official papers and release a portion of them to the public the same way former presidents do.

Future Supreme Court justices should be appointed biennially and should serve no longer than 18 years, after which they’d serve on lower courts and/or fill in on the high court when there’s an unexpected vacancy.

Supreme Court justices should build on the new Code of Conduct and take additional concrete steps to improve its ethics regimen. The entire judiciary should be subject to stricter anti-harassment, anti-discrimination and whistleblower-protection rules.

Judges and justices should be subject to the same travel, gift and personal hospitality rules as members of Congress and the executive branch. The online financial disclosures database should include every judge's and justice's annual report.

Supreme Court justices should advise the public of their appearances outside of the court, should endeavor to speak before nonpartisan audiences and should allow media coverage for most of the appearances.
