What Are the Justices Up to This Summer?

Unlike in the other branches of the federal government, notice of the justices’ out-of-Washington appearances is not given to the press and public ahead of time – even though their speeches and colloquies garner broad interest and often make news.

Of all the practices that exemplify the court’s institutional opaqueness, this one would be the easier to correct – with no more than a periodic, two-line media advisory.
