An Elegant Proposal on Supreme Court Term Limits

limits-thumbWe just came across this very short and elegant proposal for a constitutional amendment on Supreme Court term limits from Matt Frank, a New York-based math Ph.D.

Whenever two years have passed since any Justice arrived on or departed from the Supreme Court, the term of whichever Justice has served longest on the Court shall end.

That’s it!

Over time, this amendment would yield a court of nine justices with single, staggered, 18-year terms.
